Frequently Asked Questions

Booking

All bookings are made via our premade contact form to avoid confusion. When submitted it will send the form via email to our booking agent where they will inform you on prices and availability.

You can visit our booking form here : Booking Form

You can book a tour as far in advance as you like. The earlier you inquire, the better chance we have of securing your spot.

  • We understand you might be eager to book your Bora Bora adventure! To ensure we can give each inquiry the attention it deserves, our bookings manager sometimes receives a high volume of requests. This means it might take a little longer than usual to receive a reply. We appreciate your patience!

  • To help us streamline the process, we kindly ask that you submit only one inquiry per tour. This allows our bookings manager to work through inquiries efficiently and get back to you as soon as possible.

We will most likely redirect you to our bookings email (booking@maohinuiborabora.com) in order to keep track of all correspondence.

Group tours are generally only available for cruise ship guests, with the exception of those staying on the Paul Gauguin or Star Breeze cruises.

We require at least 8 people for a group tour to be confirmed. If you don’t have a group of 8, we’ll add your names to a list and send confirmation as soon as we reach the minimum number.

We hold a contract with the Paul Gauguin, so you cannot book directly with us. However, you can book our ½ Day Lagoon or ¾ Day Lagoon & Lunch tours through the cruise ship.

Due to the smaller capacity of the Star Breeze, we only offer private tours.

Yes, we offer private tours for guests staying at hotels, lodges, or other islands. We can arrange pick up for most of these locations.  Just pick your lodging on the contact form and we will let you know if pickup for your tour is available.

You may receive a quote and then be redirected to our main office, as our bookings manager primarily handles tour inquiries and the main office will handle more in depth ceremony and special event planning.

Payment

Payment is due in cash (only) on the day of the tour at the dock or pickup location discussed. Please bring the exact amount, as our payment collector does not carry change or have a card reader.

We Accept US Dollars, Pacific Franks, and Euros

Due to multiple custom options, pickup fees, food preparation costs, and different wedding ceremony options we use a quote system.  Please fill out our booking contact form to get a quote and any more information on specific tours.

Cancellation Policy

Send us an email as soon as possible if you cannot make the tour for any reason (including illness). This helps us accommodate other guests and start the tour on time. Refer to the website footer or contact page for ways to reach us.

We require a minimum of 6 people on the dock for a group tour to go forward on the day scheduled. If we don’t meet this minimum, we may have to cancel the tour on the scheduled day.

We try to stay updated with cruise schedules, but we ultimately rely on you to let us know about cruise cancellations. If your cruise is canceled, you won’t be charged any additional fees to reschedule your tour. Please reach out to discuss the rescheduling with our bookings manager.

You are welcome to discuss this with our booking manager if there are extenuating circumstances.

Rights & Regulations

Yes, we reserve the right to cancel in the event of booking conflicts (such as overbooking, timing issues, or potential guest conflicts).

We ask that all guests drink responsibly. Due to French Polynesian liquor laws, alcohol consumption is limited to lunchtime on the motu only.

Before You arrive

Sunscreens containing chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate are harmful to coral reefs and marine life. To protect Bora Bora’s delicate ecosystem, please avoid using these products. Instead, opt for mineral sunscreens with active ingredients like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. These ingredients offer broad-spectrum sun protection while being safe for the environment.   Thank you for doing your part to keep the reefs safe on Bora Bora.

The lagoon of Bora Bora is a stunning natural wonder, teeming with vibrant marine life. To help preserve this delicate environment and ensure your safety, we kindly ask you to keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Be Mindful of Wildlife: Admire the colorful fish from a distance. Some species, while beautiful, may have spines or defenses that can cause discomfort if touched. It’s best to look, not touch!
  • Respect the Fire Coral: Fire coral, despite its name, is not actually a true coral. It has a powerful sting that can cause irritation, so please avoid contact.
  • Leave Treasures Where They Belong: The ocean is home to beautiful shells, coral, and other natural wonders. Please leave them in their natural habitat for others to enjoy. Not only is it important for the ecosystem, but transporting these items can result in hefty fines from customs.
  • Protect the Reef: Coral reefs are fragile ecosystems. Please avoid stepping on or touching the coral, as this can cause damage.

By following these simple practices, you’ll help protect Bora Bora’s unique environment and ensure a safe and enjoyable lagoon tour for yourself and future visitors. Thank you for being an eco-conscious traveler!
